BLOG

Hey guys! I am so grateful to be able to share some of my experiences with you. I have had many obstacles throughout my life which have at times stood in the way of my training and living a healthier lifestyle; being a shift worker, the death of my partner, relationships and motherhood to name a few. A few years ago I began to blog my training and experiences while preparing for a fitness competition. After I finished the show I kept up with my blog so I could go back and see how life was affecting my journey. I thought it would be interesting to share some of these insights with my friends. Enjoy.

Spring Competitions

September 29, 2012

Our Spring competitions seem like they are months away. April, May and June is prime competition season. INBF, NPAA, IDFA and WBFF all have competitions during these months. You need a solid base to begin your journey towards competitions. The 16 weeks of prep for the stage is just that, preparation, fine tuning and not the time to grow your muscles. From now (September) to January is the time to build muscle and even out your body. As a judge for the past 4 years for the WBFF there are some important things I look for in a competitor, balancing of the body being one very important piece. Diving your body into upper/lower, front/back and right/left sides and making sure your body is evenly balanced is easthetically pleasing to the eye and catches the attention of the judges. What are you doing this off-season to prepare?

If you are interested in working with me in getting ready for the stage, please contact me soon. Before you know it off-season will be in-season. Right now I am offering packages for stage preparation! Some of my competitors have been already out running stairs on Wednesday and Sundays. Other group training can be kick boxing and yoga. Most importantly is what you are eating, how you are training and making sure you are growing evenly. Contact me soon for details! Have a great day! :)

You only have one body, one life. Live it well.
